Adding Fringe to Your Scarf
A Step-by-Step Guide
If you want to add some flair to your scarf, consider adding some fringe! To do so, simply follow these simple instructions:
Gather strands of yarn from each color you have left.
Measure 15 inches of yarn using your measuring tape, and cut it.
Depending on your preference, you can add as much or as little fringe as you'd like. However, for this pattern, we recommend one strand for each row of the scarf.
Take the first strand of fringe, and insert your crochet hook into the stitch as if you're about to join on. Instead, place your strand of yarn on the hook and pull it through.
Remove your hook, put your fingers through the loop in front of you, and grab the two strings. Pull them through, ensuring that the fringe is secure.
Repeat this process for both sides of the scarf.
Use your scissors to even out the fringe. If any of the strands are sticking up, use a steamer to flatten them. Congratulations! You have now successfully added fringe to your scarf.
