Pattern Inspiration
Choosing Boho-inspired Colors!
When designing this blanket pattern, I wanted to feature the boho color scheme. Boho is a style that is known for its eclectic and free-spirited vibe, drawing inspiration from various cultures and eras. The boho color scheme typically includes earthy tones like terracotta, olive green, mustard yellow, and warm neutrals such as beige and cream. These colors come together to create a cozy and inviting aesthetic that is perfect for adding a touch of bohemian flair to any space. In this blanket pattern, you can expect to see a mix of these rich and vibrant colors that will evoke a sense of warmth and comfort. The intricate design will showcase geometric patterns, floral motifs, and perhaps even some tassels or fringe to enhance that boho look. Whether you're curling up with this blanket on a chilly evening or using it as a stylish throw for your couch, it's sure to bring a touch of bohemian charm to your home decor.
How to customize this Pattern
Our Summer at the Beach Crochet Blanket is available in two sizes: Baby and Throw. If you require a smaller blanket, keep in mind that the pattern is worked in multiples of 3 plus 2. The same principle applies if you want to create a larger blanket. Alternatively, if you prefer not to adjust the stitch count, consider using a larger or smaller hook size (5.5mm or 4mm). Experiment with a gauge swatch to determine your tension.
How to Style with your Home Decor
Are you in need of tips on how to add our Summer at the Beach Crochet Blanket boho theme to your home? Here's a few suggestions to help you bring that coastal vibe indoor
Color Pallette: Incorporate shades of blue, sandy beige, and seafoam green to mimic the colors of the ocean and beach.
Texture: Utilize natural materials like wicker, jute, and driftwood to enhance the boho feel of the space.
Accessories: Add seashells, coral motifs, and beach-inspired artwork to further enhance the coastal theme.
Lighting: Opt for soft, ambient lighting with woven or rattan lampshades to create a warm and inviting atmosphere.
Comfort: Layer the space with cushions, throws, and rugs in soft, natural fabrics to make it cozy and welcoming. By incorporating these elements into your home decor, you can easily bring the essence of our Summer at the Beach Crochet Blanket boho theme to life.

Yarn Substitutions
Brava Sport Weight Yarn #4
100% Acrylic 340yrds/100g
WeCrochet's Brava Sport Weight yarn is a beautiful lightweight yarn that has a variety of colors. The color choices that they have will definitely make it hard to choose just one color. No worries this yarn is super affordable and it's Premium Acrylic! You can't beat that!
Mary Maxims Starlette
100% Ultra Soft Acrylic , 180yrds/100g
Mary Maxims Starlette Yarn is another great substitution! In our Winter Wonderland Christmas Collection we worked with their Starlette Sparkle line that was a great choice as well. It's such a soft yarn, it gets even softer when blocked. In another of our blanket patterns we used Starlette Yarn, without the Sparkle. You can find the Pattern Kit on their site here!

BLOCKING
Take your blanket and soak in luke warm water for 25-30 min. Add a drop of dish soap or woolwash to your water. Once your blanket has soaked, you will ring out water as best you can with your hands. Use a towel and wrap your blanket up to rid the blanket of any acess water. Block to measurements. The next step will be to add the fringe. If you do not wish to add fringe, once your blanket is dry it's ready for gifting! If you wish to add the tassels follow the steps listed.
Fringe
Ensure that your blanket is blocked and dry before beginning the fringe. Start with Color A, cut a 14'' strand. The fringe should be inserted into every third stitch along the top and bottom edges of the blanket. Prepare 5 strands for each stitch. Once you have cut the required fringe length for the edges, start attaching them. Insert your crochet hook into the first single crochet along the edge. Fold the 5 strands in half and place them on the hook. Pull the strands through the stitch, then tie a knot using your thumb and pointer finger. Tighten the strands to secure them, resulting in 10 strands for each fringe. Repeat this process for the remaining stitches. After attaching the fringe, split the first set in half to create 5 strands. Knot these with 5 strands from the next set. Continue this pattern until all fringe is attached securely. Knot them at the same position for a neat appearance. Once all fringe is attached, steam and trim them evenly for a polished look.
